The Tour Begins

On Saturday morning, October 22nd our plane arrived in London and then went to our hotel in Windsor. We were fortunate to catch the Changing of the Guard on our way to the hotel! After some rest, we set out on foot to see the small town of Windsor on our own. We ate dinner at Queen Charlotte and tried Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash. We did not enjoy it but were glad we tried it.

Our official tour began at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 23rd with a tour of Windsor Castle. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures inside the castle. We also saw the burial site of Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip inside the Chapel. No photography was allowed inside. That evening we took a guided walking tour that ended abruptly when we got caught in torrential rain, thunder, and lightning. We had a good night’s sleep and a full English breakfast in the morning before we boarded the bus to go to our next destination, Blenheim Palace.
